Time to get some routine in my life

What does this picture have to do with my subject?! Absolutely nothing, but I took this picture on a recent trip to Lake Tahoe. What you're looking at is Emerald Bay...

I've been doing a LOT of reading lately...and I've come to the determination that I need to change! I need to change from the inside out, and I need to change in a lot of different areas in my life...

Granted this is a GREAT realization to come too-because a lot of people are simply content in where and WHO they are in life. I know 110% that this is not me and I strive to be aware of the many areas that I need improvement in.

Now I will be honest, it's one thing to be aware and another thing to actually implement actions and steps to improve oneself. That right there is the first step, which is often times frightening altogether.

1) You have to recognize there's a problem
2) You have to accept there's a problem and YOU're the problem
3) You have to implement a plan to resolve the problem.

Without these steps-Change can never truly happen! I have steps 1 and 2 covered and now it's on to step # 3.

When you have so many areas that you want to change and improve-WHERE DO YOU START?! It's like trying to clean a really messy room or that messy garage. There's so much going on that it's so easy to get overwhelmed as you go from mess 1, to mess 2, to mess 3....
And of course you've completely given up by this point because of the headache the entire project has actually caused!

So the first thing that I'm implementing is a daily schedule/routine. I hate anything that remotely looks like a routine, a regimen, or any sort of discipline! I have so much respect for those in the military or even athletes because they're so dedicated and committed. It doesn't matter what the benefits are I often allow my rebellious nature and spirit rule over me and I quickly forget about any plan that I had in place.

So back to my routine....it's going to consist of pre-work morning activities, and post-work evening activities. It's going to consist of a time to get a up and a time to go to bed. Did I mention that I hate routine? I also hate a set time of getting up and going to bed! I have no idea how I'm still employed sometimes (other than by the simple Grace of God) because I'm usually late to work rather than early.

I will definitely post my "schedule" on here so you all can help me to be accountable!

I just love the way you express your determination to "change" aspects of your life that are causing conflict. I just love the pictures and how you correlate them to your explanations about change! Great job!
